About Kledzik... A weekend starter for the Deacons last season, will look to make the transition to closer this year... will provide much-needed experience to the back end of the bullpen... has a shutdown-type mentality, which is well-suited for the closer's role... can be dominating at times... the staff loves his makeup... spent the summer of 2007 with the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod League... made six starts and pitched the fourth-most innings on the team... majoring in communication...son of Mike & Kay Kledzik.

In 2007... Appeared in 20 games with 15 starts... went 4-4 with a 5.01 ERA in 93.1 innings pitched... tied for the team lead in starts and was second in innings pitched...went 3-3 in ACC competition, with wins against Virginia, Maryland and Duke... helped Wake Forest to a 3-2 defeat of No. 19 Clemson in the ACC Tournament... allowed two runs on six hits in 7.1 innings of work in the no-decision against the Tigers... drew the starting assignment against No. 5 Texas (June 3) in the NCAA Tournament... recorded two pickoffs on the season.

In 2006... Started a team-high 13 games, going 5-4 with a 5.00 ERA... second on the team with 55 strikeouts... pitched a team-high 75.2 innings, walking just 28 batters...tied for team high in wins with five... struck out a season-high eight batters in six innings of work against Florida State on May 5 where he also gave up just one hit in the win... went seven innings against North Carolina on March 11... got the win against UNC-Wilmington in just 2.2 innings of relief work on Feb. 17... went six innings against Virginia Tech on March 31, striking out seven for the win.

Prior to Wake Forest... two-time letterwinner at Robinson Secondary... twice named Baseball Factory Preseason All-American... earned second team All-Patriot District honors last season... in 40 innings on the mound in 2005, struck out 54 and posted a 2.63 earned run average... played in the Mickey Mantle World Series in McKinney, Texas... received the Junior Class Service Award in 2005... also earned a pair of letters in basketball.
