Qualified for the United States Amateur in August... Advanced through stroke play and into match play... Finished 59th in stroke play with a seven-over 147... Defeated Northwestern University's David Merkow 3-and-2 to advance to the round of 32... Merkow was the 2006 Big Ten Player of the Year... Lost to eventual Amateur champion Colt Knost of SMU 3-and-2... Shot 66-68=134 (-10) to qualify for the U.S. Amateur...
