2007-08
Competed in nine events... Played 27 rounds as a sophomore compared to just six as a freshman... Posted one top 20 finish, a tie for 16th at the River Landing Intercollegiate... Shot 72-75-70=217 (+1) in the event... Tied for 27th at the General Jim Hackler Invitational... Was instrumental in the 16-stroke comeback team win for the Deacs at the General Hackler Invitational as he fired a one-under 71 to lead Wake in the final round... Shot a three-under 69, his lowest round as a Demon Deacon, in the second round of the ACC Championship... Had 19 of 27 (70.4 percent) rounds counted.
Fall 2007
Competed in three events... Shot 73-78-77=228 (+12) to tie for 56th in the Carpet Capital Collegiate... Enjoyed his best finish at the UNCG Bridgestone Collegiate Championship, where he shot 77-75-71=223 (+70) to tie for 40th... Shot an opening-round 78 in the VCU Shootout before retiring with a back injury.
Summer 2007
Competed in three amateur events... Tied for 12th in the Eastern Amateur... Tied for 47th in the Rice Planters Amateur... Tied for 39th in the Southern Amateur.
2006-07
Participated in two tournaments as a freshman . . . Fired three consecutive rounds of 1-under 70 to finish 15th at the Belmont Intercollegiate, his first top-20 finish as a Demon Deacon.
Fall, 2006
Played in the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate as an individual... Overcame a nervous rookie first round of 91 to shoot 78 in round 2 and a very solid 74 in round 3 for a 243 total.
High School
Was one of the top prep golfers in the southwest at Trinity Christian High School in Dallas... Played for the Trojans under coach Mike Harville... Earned four varsity letters... Won the district and state championships as a senior... Fired a 71-72--143 (-1) at Houston's Meadowbrook Farms to win the Texas state high school championship... Twice won district title... Voted all-district and all-state in 2006... Three-time team MVP... Overcame cold and windy conditions to win the Hebron Invitational at the Tribute Golf Club... Shot 73-69-66-77--285 at the Eastern Amateur to tie for 58th... a member of the National Honor Society... Graduated Magna Cum Laude... Played for coach Mike Harville.
Personal
Son of Lanny and Peni Wadkins... Lanny, and sister, Jessica, both attended Wake Forest... Post-school ambition is to play on the PGA Tour... Came to Wake Forest because of the golf, the opportunity to get a great education and to grow as an individual.
