JOPLIN, Mo. -
Wake Forest All-Americans Steven Forman and Cory Parr will play for the doubles title of the Millennium Tennis Club F18 Futures Tournament on Friday night after 5:30 p.m. in Joplin, Mo.
On Thursday, the Demon Deacon team defeated University of Georgia based pair Travis Helgeson and Jamie Hunt 7-5, 7-6 (3) in the semifinals. The final match will feature a professional team out of Thailand, Weerapat Doakmaiklee and Kirati Siributwong, who knocked out the only remaining seeded team in the second semifinal contest.
Last season, Parr and former Deacon Todd Paul claimed the F18 futures title in Rochester, N.Y.
Following the match on Friday evening, Forman and Parr are expected to play in the Lewis and Clark Community College USTA F19 Futures Tournament in Godfrey, Ill. Parr received a wild card for singles play, and the duo is also expected to receive a wild card following Friday's match in Joplin.
